Hunter Lake Tamarack Flooring is simply
unlike any solid wood floor you have seen before.
- Tamarack, also known as Eastern Larch (Larix larcina),
is found in the Northern Boreal and Acadian Forests of North America.
- This is the only softwood tree that is deciduous-it loses it’s needles each fall!
- It is a fast growing species which produces a heavy, durable wood.
- The many extractives (or oils) found in the wood make it naturally decay
and rot resistant-which translates into a lifetime of service as an interior floor.
What makes Tamarack so great for flooring?
- Durable—the hardest of the softwoods, performs more like a hardwood
in service, decay and rot resistant.
- Unique—it has many colours and grain patterns-from light beige to dark
brown with hints of green and pink in some pieces.
- Adaptable—it can be used from the bedroom to the den to the kitchen
to the dining room.
