Sizes & Grades

Hunter Lake Tamarack Flooring comes in one basic standard configuration:

• Pieces are 83mm (3-1/4”) wide by 19mm (3/4”) thick, in random lengths.
• Shipped in boxes containing 1.86m2 (20ft²) of flooring, stacked 4 layers deep.
• Box dimensions 2134mm (84”) long by 257mm (10.1”) wide by 76mm (3”)deep
• 48 boxes per pallet comprising 89 m2 (960 ft²).
• A standard 40’ (12.2m) container holds 20 pallets totaling 1780 m2 (19,200 ft²)

Hunter Lake Tamarack Flooring comes in 2 Grades: Natural and Rustic.    (Select the Pictures below for a full size image - 68K each)

Natural Grade: exhibits natural characteristics of the wood. This grade admits tight sound knots, prominent colour variation, seasoning stains, dark spots and streaks, and slight checks not exceeding 75mm in length. Pieces generally exceed 400mm in length.

Rustic Grade: a solid, serviceable floor with no unfilled knot holes greater than 5mm, no soft rot, wane on back is permissible, splits, checks and machining defects are permissible, but not to the point where they would impair serviceability and end use. More shorter pieces between 200mm and 400mm in length will be found in this grade.
