Hunter Lake Tamarack Flooring is a company owned and operated by Hunter Lake Lumber, a private, family owned New Brunswick, Canada based company. It was formed in 1994, and specializes in supplying custom wood products principally to homeowners, building contractors and building supply dealers in its local market area (southern New Brunswick). The company operates a band-sawmill, a dehumidification kiln, and equipment required to produce custom millwork. Because this is a family owned business, the owners are very particular about the products which are produced. Every order is carefully constructed, from the logs through the saw and kiln, to the moulding and finishing. This care to detail gives the customer fine quality products delivered on time. |
Hunter Lake Lumber sources its wood for its sawmill operations from the forests of New Brunswick. Most of the wood comes from privately owned woodlots in the southwestern portion of the Province. As well, Hunter Lake Lumber purchases wood from Crown forests managed by private companies.
From these local sources of wood, Hunter Lake Lumber produces mouldings and flooring in maple, birch, ash, pine and tamarack. The company also manufactures a range of cedar products including V-matched and half-log siding, handrails and balusters, and does custom sawing and kiln-drying for local customers.

Hunter Lake Tamarack Flooring was set up to extend the scope of Hunter Lake Lumber’s operations. The company has a ready supply of Tamarack, and has already begun test marketing unfinished flooring in New Brunswick. This product will be manufactured in a state of the art plant at the existing mill site in the near future. Until the plant is ready, an arrangement has been made with an existing flooring manufacturer, to produce and pre-finish tamarack flooring from sawn lumber supplied by Hunter Lake Lumber. This allows Hunter Lake Tamarack Flooring to be supplied to the market even before construction is completed on the plant expansion. |
